Today we've been testing the server under strain. Our aim is to make the server optimized enough so that you will be able to see and interact with every player in the world. Here is a screenshots of the server in action:

50 simulated clients running around in a circle, Jonathan and I stand in the middle to watch.

Each of the clients is seen to the server as a real player - we managed to get a satisfactory amount of clients connected before our test server started to show signs of lagging.

We're hoping to get a public test version ready soon so we can give our fans a preview of the game and get some useful server statistics with real players. Keep checking back for news on test versions!

With our layer system, you will be able to walk behind the house, on top of the house, and infront of it. The interior of the houses will not be proportional to the exterior, much like in Zelda: "A Link to the past".

Here is it, the first view into the pixel art we are testing. 100% original art, alot of it will be animated whenever possible. The plan is for tree's and stuff to animate on downloaded versions only (size issue). I have hidden the menu, since it is not complete yet, and doesn't represent anything significant.

This screenshot will open at 640x480, which is the actual game size ;)

My brand new SSD (harddrive) broke yesterday, and I have already ordered a new HDD (disc harddrive), it should be arriving by motorcycle in a few minutes. It may take a few days to get everything installed and back in working order though. Let's hope not.\

In other news, Flash gaming summit was awsome, I learned a few new ideas to apply directly to Aldure. I sat in the online chat through most of the convention, it was pretty neat hearing people talk about the company I work for in so many nice words.

Aldure has been going strong for a few months now, we decided it was time to get the website ready, flash gaming summit is about to start, and who knows, maybe someone will want to visit the website. I will try to get the website compatible with all browser as soon as possible, right now I think it works with IE7 and FireFox.
